Gravel Capture — Privacy Policy

Gravel Capture is a Chrome extension provided by Gravel AI for authorised users of the Gravel innovation platform. It lets a user capture publicly visible product information (product name, description, size, price, marketing claims and ingredient/INCI lists) from a web page they are actively viewing, and send it to their own private Gravel workspace for competitive-intelligence analysis.

What the extension accesses

• Page content you choose to capture. When you click “Capture” (or “Capture whole catalogue”) on a product page, the extension reads that page’s visible text and, where needed, takes a screenshot of the page, plus the page URL and product image URL.
• Your settings. The backend address and access password you enter are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) so you don’t re-enter them each time.

The extension only reads a page when you explicitly trigger a capture. It does not run in the background, does not track your browsing, and does not read pages you have not chosen to capture.

How the data is used

• Captured product data is sent over HTTPS to the Gravel analysis backend (provital-custom.gravelai.com) associated with your workspace, where it is structured (name, claims, INCI, etc.) and used to power your competitive-intelligence and concept-generation analysis.
• Access is protected by a shared workspace password. Captured product data is retained to provide the analysis features and to maintain and improve Gravel's products and services.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not use it for advertising.
• We do not collect health, financial, authentication or personally-identifying information; the extension is intended for capturing public product-catalogue pages only.
• We do not transfer captured data to third parties except the AI processing service used to structure the text, under contract, solely to provide the feature.

Data retention & deletion

Locally stored settings remain until you clear them or remove the extension. To request deletion of any captured data held in your Gravel workspace, contact us below.
